They definitely don’t just call it Florida’s Paradise Coast for no reason! If you like warm tropical weather, (clean) white sandy beaches, golf, high-end shopping & dining.. this list can really easily continue (fishing, art, drooling over mansions & exotic cars).. Naples is definitely the place to be, or at least retire! I attached a catchy song by a native (Ivan Magana) that we found on the net pretty much summing Naples all up!
So, we left New Jersey about a week before Christmas to start our month-long road trip. I think the weather was in the 30s with a much colder wind chill. We arrived in Naples and the weather was mid 80s! I could totally get used to celebrating Christmas in Florida! Fortunately, my boyfriends parents have a home in Naples & the whole family made it down for the holidays. There were 15 of us + 5 dogs! His parents live on a few fenced-in acres, so we stay on their property in our motorhome and everyone stays in their house. Being that we don’t have kids & our dogs don’t truly appreciate Christmas presents, it’s really a wonderful feeling watching how happy the little kids get on Christmas morning after Santa comes!
There is so much shopping down there! You can probably find anything you want. There’s malls for everyone. The Waterside Shops is a gorgeous, open-air mall and it’s very high-end. We went shopping there on Christmas Eve & while waiting for my car at the valet, the first 4 cars to pull up were worth over a million dollars combined! To give you na bigger picture, it was not one, but two Mercedes-Benz GT S‘, a Rolls Royce Wraith convertible and a Rolls Royce Phantom. #DAMN The car porn down there is pretty legit. I’ve never seen so many Rolls Royces and Bentleys in a matter of a week. I mean, it’s tropical weather all year round and theres almost no potholes on the roads. It’s a car lovers paradise.
Downtown Naples also has a lot of shopping, art and dining, but it’s definitely geared more towards an older crowd. A few of my photos attached are from Downtown. The City of Naples does a great job decorating downtown for Christmas – the photos do it no justice! If you ever get the chance to visit Naples, you must also visit the historic Naples Pier. It goes out into the ocean quite a bit – many go to fish, bird & dolphin-watch, but I went for the gorgeous sunsets!
One of my favorite things to do is take drives and admire the incredible houses along the coast! They say Naples contains a bigger proportion of millionaires than any other Floridian city. I heard Tom Cruise, President Donald Trump & Bill Gates are amongst a few of the famous people who have homes there.
That catchy song totally describing Naples! Love it!
